THROUGH WASTE
MANAGEMENT
The Minister of Environment, Mr. John Odey has described waste management as profitable
commercial venture which the present administration intends to harness to
create employment opportunities for unemployed Nigerians.
The Minister stated this while on a
working visit to the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and
Development, NIPRD, to asses the level of work on the Medical Waste Incinerator
donated to the Institute by the Federal Ministry of Environment.
He was impressed that the Medical
Waste incinerator was fabricated by Nigerians. Mr. Odey
gave the assurance that the Incinerator will be commissioned soon and handed
over to the Federal Capital Territory just as the work has neared completion.

environmental management is a long process which involves partnership between
the Federal, State, local government and private entrepreneurs. He therefore

looked into.
The Director General of National
Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development NIPRD expressed regret
that the project had not been commissioned since last year and wants it to be
commissioned as soon as possible.

supposed to serve the Federal Capital Territory, industrial waste at National
